The use of silos on construction sites has been increasing rapidly, ever since the first m-tec systems were adopted in the UK back in 1997.

There are two main types of lifting equipment used to transport these silos to and from the construction site. The first to be used in the UK with dry silo mortar was the pocket lift system, designed and patented back in the 1960s by m-tec.

A short time thereafter an alternative ‘Hook-lift’ system was introduced to the UK along the lines of the system used in continental Europe fir many years.
